Anne Nicol's Spiced Nuts

A great and easy snack to have ready whenever guests come over.

Ready In: 35-40 minutes
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
Cool Time: 20 minutes


1/2 cup (125ml) sugar

1/2 tsp (2.5ml) salt

1 tsp (5ml) cinnamon

1/2 tsp (2.5ml) nutmeg

1/2 tsp (2.5ml) clove

2 tbsp (30ml) water

1/4 lb (2 oz/113g) shelled halves of pecans or other nuts

Cooking Instructions:

Combine all ingredients, except nuts, in a medium sauce pan; bring to a rapid boil and cook 2-5 minutes, or until a drop placed in cold water forms a soft ball. Remove and stir in nuts. Pour into a well-buttered tin and cool at room temperature. Do not refrigerate these, as they will become sticky.
