Cheese Straws

Not only do these cheese straws make a great accompaniment at a party, but they would also make a great gift when wrapped in pretty cellophane.

Bake Time: 10-12 minutes
Refrigerate Time: 30 minutes


1/4 lb (4oz/113g) cheddar cheese, grated

1/2 cup (125ml) butter, softened

1/4 cup (50ml) flour

1/4 tsp (1ml) salt 

Parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions:

Cream together the cheese and butter; add dry ingredients and blend well. Chill in refrigerator; remove and roll pastry our quite thin. With a pastry wheel or sharp knife cut dough into twenty four 1x 6" pieces and sprinkle each with Parmesan cheese. Fold each strip in half lengthwise, twist each and place on buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 400F for 10-12 minutes. Can be kept for several days; reheat in oven before serving.
