Serves: A Crowd
Ready In: 60 minutes
Prep Time: 35 minutes
Bake Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
Base:
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp lemon juice
Dough:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
¼ cup cold butter
1-½ cups cold milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
Filling:
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Cooking Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425F
In medium bowl combine ¼ cup melted butter, honey and lemon juice until smooth; transfer to 9x13-inch glass baking dish and set aside.
In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt until combined. Using 2 knives or pastry cutter, cut cold butter into flour mixture until butter is pea-sized.
In 2-cup glass measure, stir egg into milk then pour into dry ingredients.
Using a fork, gently combine until dough forms; transfer to lightly floured surface.
Knead dough about eight (8) times and roll into a 20x9-inch rectangle.
In small bowl, combine filling ingredients of ¼ cup melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon; spread evenly over the rectangle of dough.
Roll up lengthwise and cut into 12 pieces with unflavoured dental floss or a very sharp knife.
Place pieces cut side down in the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 25 minutes in pre-heated oven.
Invert (carefully) onto serving platter. Enjoy!
