Happy World Egg Month kitchen friends!

I thought a great way to celebrate is to fill you in on a little kitchen secret - how to make the perfect hard boiled egg!

First thing's first, we should really call it a hard cooked egg, rather than boiled. This is because if you over boil your egg, the yolk lining will have a greyish color to it when you open it. Still safe to eat but not so pretty to look at!

So here are 5 easy steps to making a pefect hard cooked egg:

1. Place your egg(s) in a pot and cover with cold water.

2. Quickly bring water + eggs to a boil over high heat.

3. Once boiling, remove from heat immediately and cover with lid.

4. Let eggs stand for 15-20 minutes.

5. Drain, and cover again with cold water until eggs are cooled

Once cooked, you can refrigerate for up to 1 week if kept in their shells. But who are we kidding, in our kitchen we know that they will be enjoyed very, very quickly! We like to eat them on their own with a little S&P or make some colorful devilled eggs, like this recipe here!
