Sometimes you just need to eat a big ol’ bowl of comfort food and that’s exactly what this recipe was made for. Some people like curling up with a good book on a cloudy afternoon – us foodies like a corn and potato chowder.

To me there are 3 things that make something a comfort food. It has to be served warm, loaded with carbs, and eaten with a spoon. This recipe fulfills all of these comfort components, making it a bowl of pure bliss.

The starchy sweetness of local produce pairs perfectly with the little bits of salty bacon and kick from a jalapeño pepper. Satisfying all tastes buds, this soup is the go-to for comfort food. You can indulge in this soup chunky style or puree it for a smoother spoonful of flavor. Enjoy it with some crusty bread and a glass of wine to really hit the spot.
